| This thesis presents a PC-Based system for performing Physics experiments, including sensors, a data |
| acquisition circuit and a Windows program to control the circuit. With the help of the program, the |
| user can acquire and save data of experiments in disk files for further analysis without manipulating |
| the hardware circuit by hand. The results of several experiments showed that the data acquired are |
| very useful for deriving the formulae of the involved Physical phenomena, with the help of MATLAB. |
| This thesis explains the method of hardware design, software control process and system limits, |
| and demonstrates its functions with three examples of Physics experiments. In the future, when we |
| use the system with Internet, it would offer a better environment for students to study Science courses |
| with on-line classmates. In the environment, I believe the users can appreciate the meanings of Science |
| in a brand new way. |
